Marcy Goodfleisch: Ethics in Humor

We meet at the DRC, 5407 N. IH-35, Suite 410, on Friday, April 26, 2019, from 11:30am - 1:00pm (We start at 11:30 for lunch and networking, presentation starts at 12:00).

The meeting (including lunch) is free of charge for Austin Mediators Association (AMA) members, and $10 for non-AMA members.

One (1) hour of CE is available for those who attend.

About the Topic:

A one-hour session on ethical theories of humor and how humor can negatively or positively impact mediation and dispute-resolution interactions. The presentation will discuss uses of humor in relationships, workplace settings, and power structures. A list of references and other helpful resources will be provided.

About our Speaker:

Marcy Goodfleisch teaches upper-division university courses on The Ethics and Psychology of Humor. She has been a mediator for more than 20 years and has successfully mediated more than 200 dispute resolutions through her consulting services. She is a member of AMA and TAM, and holds CDM credentials through the TMCA.
